 In addition to helping with academic tasks and supporting students through the ups and downs of school life, mentors can find themselves helping mentees deal with problems from outside the school setting. While most meetings will revolve around school-related topics, there are times when issues at home or in the community can impact an in-school mentoring relationship.

 In the Yuinon, we have many methods to teach youth how to apply key principles to their lives so that they will succeed. One method is through our Job & Life Skills training. For the past decade I've worked as a professional ceramic & marble tile installer. Now that the Yuinon has received a 3-year grant from U.S. department of education for mentoring, I am able to expand the use of my experience in ceramic tile and in life....
